Dark Light

i can't feel my right side ear but i'll probably still not listen to jazz
i can't feel my left side hand god i hope it comes back to me again
but all this means is i'll get back what i lost
when i wanted to die
8 months before
or a year or two ago
sitting in my room with the light beams shining through
and an able bodied soul but a mind that didn't know
that light beam was gold

I Was
04:30
|

i was the boy with shoes too tight and ankles caught between the tides i was the girl who wore a dress to Sunday school and that was it
i had a handkerchief that went around my neck
it wiped my tears, sweat my blood my innocence throughout the years and now i'm not afraid
i've found a body, soul and mind that i can keep and now i'm not afraid
i've learned to love it and to keep it all the same
i was a wave, a cloud, a cliff, a slow parade
to short to speak
a lover with a heart of hide and seek
and now i know it's tough to be an elephant tied to a wing
and now i'm not afraid
i found a love and they love me and now i'm not afraid
i found a love that's here to stay

Rings Grow

i used to think i was leaves but i'm bark
and i'm peeling away
and my bones are the branches that re grow in the springtime
if there's one thing that i believe, it's that the wind can make you a child again. if there's one thing that i believe, it's that the wind can make you a child again. if there's one thing that i believe, it's that my body will be the same wherever i bleed

i'm in a mountain lake
there are hands all over my naked body and i've got a sting
in my right side arm and it's deep into my veins
my veins
my veins
i'm in a sunny park
lying face down on my back on a crucifix
that's made of plastic
and it's painful
but i don't feel pain at all
it's painful
but i don't feel pain at all
because i'm on a magazine
and i'm in your favorite show on tv
and i'm at the movies
i am weightless
i am bone
i am weightless
i am bone
i am weightless
i am bone
i am asphalt

Thank You

the mountains around my eyes set on fire before i could even swallow my own spit. i was born a boy with many opinions and now i'm a girl who doesn't really care about anything. this beautiful thing happens every day it's called the sun, it's called my blood, and it's the only thing making us want to be alive. i'm really grateful for the people i've met but that won't make me die any less.. ..,. .. . ,, ..
, . . . ,,..... .. .. .
a mound of dust that light somehow seeps through and creates you
thank you

The Birds Outside Sang

morning coffee but I'm already warm
in bed sheets
don't look underneath
just yet
I'm hoping for a miracle tonight
I'll pray to God
morning birds sing songs like Ms Robinson
inside my head
I'm a child again
but there's a pill for that
and I'll pray to death
wasn't it all I thought I could see
wasn't it all I thought that I'd be
and wasn't the joke on me when I started to bleed
do you and your friends wanna come into the field and watch the fireworks shoot up into the air?
do you and your friends wanna come into the field and watch the fireworks shoot up into the air?
does the night sky terrify you and does the day sky mesmerize you and make you dream things better than the day?
does the night sky terrify you and does the day sky mesmerize you and make you dream things better than the day?
do you and your friends wanna come into the field and watch the fireworks shoot up into the air?

Cold Lakes/Quiet Dreams

sometimes
oh
it's only natural don't go
don't get lost don't be alone
maybe i'm just looking for some place to go maybe it's not me it's just the ebb and the flow
white roads,
i'm a stone skipping slow please, please
i'm not ready to let it be window
i'm all alone
maybe someone in my head is speaking slowly maybe there just was someone and they
went
away
of all the little things, i miss tall trees, cold lakes, quiet dreams hold me
hold me
hold me

grab me by my shoulder blades and hang me out to dry i'm a mess and i need someone to help me out with that
eyes just like a skyline even when they're wet and the window is foggy and the window has a tint
a bed of flowers stacks of wood and a note
a farewell letter from 100 years ago
"please remember to feed the cat, please remember that i'm never coming back"
i was born in 1994
i was born in the 70s
i was born in 1823
and you were born right next to me

Dust Inside The Light
02:27
|
|
||
i saw
some thing
glowing
and then not
not a lightening bug not a street lamp gone dark
maybe if i keep waiting maybe i'll find the dark
i heard
water
running behind the trees
but there was no river, no body, not even a stream
maybe if i keep running, maybe i can find the rain
little things
living , floating around my room in my eyes
the dust inside the light
speaking, says,
"doesn't the sky look nice tonight?"

thunderstorms, a friendly thing that remind me i could be dead / it's 2 am i'm lying in my cotton bed / i wish that i could rip the roof to see the stars / but the off-white light on the ceiling will be fine tonight
i don't know what i know anymore. i know what i love and nothing more
my black and white striped shirt that i'll wear anywhere / the light that shines into my room from
everywhere / my mom, my dad, my home, my friends, my childhood / the sound of birds, my open eyes, and memories of a past life
i don't know why i survived. maybe it's because sometimes i'd have rather died. i don't know why i survived. i guess it's just because i survived.
it's 2pm on Tuesday and i'm 20 years old / slow down, watch the sky, you'll be young forever
see? i'm just dreaming
see, i'm just floating in the light
i thought that i saw the other side, but it was only sunlight in my eyes
